Rus Dunbar — formerly of Diamond Showcase — opened Dunbar Jewelers on Hartford Turnpike in 1986, bringing decades of bench experience to Vernon. His daughter Hilary helped him open the doors, and earned her gemologist degree in 1997.
The idea from day one: questions about diamonds and jewelry are encouraged. Customers get an education, not a catalog description.

Today Chuck and Hilary run Dunbar Jewelers as a team — the showroom, the workshop, and a small crew who've been with us for years. Ann, our assistant manager, keeps the day-to-day humming.
We have everything you need in jewelry and gifts at our full-service store in Vernon — the finest diamonds in the state, pendants, earrings and rings, gold and silver, name watches, beads, fine crystal and clocks. We customize, engrave, and repair, with two gemologists on premises and on-site appraisals by a Gemologist, GIA.
